Aslı Özdemir's work moves between drawing, painting and making wearable pieces in silver. Her practice reflects an ongoing interest in the emotional and material qualities of form, and how small gestures, textures, and observations can shift between image and object. Often beginning with drawings or simple sketches, she translates everyday impressions into tactile pieces that explore the boundaries between function and expression. Through her process, familiar shapes become abstracted, softened, or reimagined, forming a quiet dialogue between material, touch, and imagination.
Özdemir studied musical composition at Istanbul Technical University Conservatory and Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and currently lives and works in London.
